Most people come to us with half an idea. A walkway and some plants by the pool. Somewhere to sit that is not in full sun at six in the evening. That is enough to start with.
We draw a plan for the whole lot, then build that plan in 3D so you can walk it before you approve it. Nothing about the finished yard should be a surprise, and the design is not done until you can picture standing in it.
The same company that draws it installs it. There is no handoff to another contractor who reads the plan differently, and no gap between the design you approved and the crew who turns up to build it. That covers the hardscaping and the irrigation as much as the planting.

Tyler and Cory grew up here and went to Smithson Valley. They know what this ground does to a yard, whether it is in Bulverde or Spring Branch. Caliche a few inches down, summers that go weeks without rain, and deer that will eat whatever you just planted.
A plan drawn for a lot in Houston will not survive here, and a plant list from a catalog will not either. Designing for the Hill Country means choosing things that live through August, and grading a lot so the rain that does arrive goes somewhere sensible.

Yes. It usually requires augering or breaking through limestone and backfilling with the right soil mix. We will also tell you which trees actually thrive here, like live oak, Monterrey oak, cedar elm, and Mexican white oak, versus ones that struggle in alkaline rock.
Nothing is truly deer-proof, but Texas sage, salvias, rosemary, muhly grasses, mountain laurel, yucca, and lantana hold up well here. We design most landscapes around deer-resistant plants unless the yard is fenced.
That is how we design. Native and adapted plants, efficient drip irrigation, and right-sized turf areas mean the landscape stays healthy under normal drought-stage restrictions.
